The Mexican Transportation Alliance (AMOTAC) recently announced a national strike for this morning, October 29th. The protesters began their demonstration at 8:00 am (GMT) by blocking various roadways as well as the main entrances to Mexico city.
This is a large demonstration. So large in fact that it spans across all 32 states.
However, it is mainly affecting the states of Puebla, Hidalgo, Morelos, Queretaro and Estado de México, in particular. At the time of this writing, 5:45 pm (GMT), this is an active and unfolding demonstration.
Over 65 thousand union workers are protesting against the Mexican government for a variety of reasons. These reasons include the constant increases in diesel fuel prices, the removal of drivers licenses and permits that allow double trailers to move freely along Mexican roads as well as the high level of risk that truck drivers face across the country every day.
In a tweet from AMOTAC, the organization has noted the purpose of the demonstration and a concise list of changes they hope to affect via this strike.

Below is a quick rundown of what AMOTAC is proposing needs to be changed in one way or another:
If you have loads moving in any of the Mexican territories today, please expect delays due to the impediment of the flow of traffic.
In fact, to give you an idea of what routes you may wish to avoid, below is a map created and distributed by the Center of the Secretariat of Citizen Security for just that purpose:
Please check back often as we will continue to update this story as it unfolds. Currently, there is no set timeline as this is all dependent upon the authorities and regulators to respond.
